Meet the Manual Therapy of Nashville team.
Hi! I’m Rebecca Lowe, Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapist (OMPT), and partner in your wellness.
All of my life I have been drawn towards healing, wellness, and wholeness. I began this by studying physical therapy at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. After I was introduced to Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT), my practice changed drastically. For 22 years now I’ve practiced OMPT and have had my own personal health story.
I have realized that healing is much more than the physical piece, and I hope that you will too. My focus is the physical aspect of helping to allow the joints, muscles, fascia, nerves, and skin to heal, but during my work you are allowed emotion in a safe environment. Sometimes being allowed to talk and express yourself in the context of having your physical issues addressed can aid in your healing. I call it Therapy With Heart.
Hi! I’m Derek Charles.
Originally from Mississippi but moved to Nashville to attend Belmont and graduated in 2005 with a DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy), I am a board Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) as well as a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). I am currently a faculty member in the Department of Physical Therapy at Tennessee State University teaching gross anatomy, therapeutic exercise, and orthopedics. I specialize in manual therapy and have a particular interest in treating the spine as well as runners, triathletes, and other athletes.
My approach is eclectic and my goal is to listen more than speak. I am here to work with my patients and your input is paramount to an optimal outcome. I promise to continuously work to help you meet your goals.
